Ride to Recovery

This October I will be riding for the wounded warriors in a program called Ride 2 Recovery. I'll be riding 525 miles from San Francisco to Santa Monica.

Many of you already know about the outstanding efforts of the Ride 2 Recovery program. I am participating in the California Challenge ride October 12 - 19, 2013. I have a fund raising goal of $10,000 and I am making steady progress but I still need to raise more.  I am asking for any donations, even $25-50 would be appreciated. Of course more is even better, but I really feel that more awareness and help to our wounded brothers and sisters is the true benefit. Please pass this along to anyone you wish.

Ride 2 Recovery is a program that has had a powerful impact on helping wounded soldiers recover from PTSD (post-traumatic stress syndrome) and regain confidence and strength through cycling on bicycles provided by Ride 2 Recovery specially adapted for amputees. In addition to rides held all over the United States and Europe wherein wounded warriors ride cost free with the support of volunteer cyclists such as myself, funds raised are also providing stationary spin bikes and trained volunteers, respiratory therapists and physical therapists as certified spinning instructors at VA hospitals and other military medical facilities. Cycling is an important part of the recovery and rehabilitation for two reasons: 1) cycling is an activity in which most patients with mental and physical disabilities can participate, and 2) participation in the Ride 2 Recoveryprogram increases the recovery and rehab progress.

With your help, we can make a great difference in the lives of men and women that are striving to return to physical and mental wholeness here at home again with their families. Please make a tax-deductible gift of any amount by going to my Ride2Recovery rider website atwww.ride2recovery.com/donate.php. Please enter David Weiss and click "Search", then click "Pick Rider" next to my name, it may also say (Laguna Niguel, CA...) and enter your credit card information in the section provided. If you wish to mail a check, please mail it with my name as a rider included to: Ride 2 Recovery, attn.: Donations, 23679 Calabasas Rd. #420, Calabasas, CA 91302. Be sure to show my name on the check as a rider. If you wish to send a check to my attention, I will submit it on your behalf. Thank you so much on behalf of thousands of wounded veterans your donation will help recover!

On the website (www.ride2recovery.com) please click on the heading "Media" at the upper right side of the page to view the videos of the Ride 2 Recovery rides. The California Challenge I am riding is shown on the video done by CBS-The Early Show.

Again, thanks for your compassion and generosity in helping me help our wounded veterans on their Ride 2 Recovery!

Warmest thanks,

David Weiss
